Narcan® Now Has an Extended Shelf Life

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved the extension of Narcan’s® shelf life from 24 to 36 months.

However, the manufacturer has recently announced that Narcan® nasal spray with a 24-month expiration date should not be used beyond that date. The FDA has approved this extended expiration date after completing a comprehensive review of data, which included all versions of Narcan®. Narcan® is the brand name for the drug naloxone.
